MATERIAL DESIGN
Exit: Web 2.0. Enter: Material Design.
As time has passed, Web 2.0 aesthetics began to dillute, losing its visual characterists. People got bored of it. Websites began to look caotic, with a mix of visuals, lacking an identifying style. It was past time for a new web revolution.

The Challenge
Transposing a 3D world for the two-dimensions low resolution of the world wide web has been a concern of websites long before the shiny glossy buttons and shapes of Web 2.0. Mimics of printed media lost their tactile appeal when reproduced on screen.

Project Role
Branding, Visual Identity, Web Design, Illustration
My Approach
Let's admit we're 2D and wear it boldly; simplifyed shapes and bold colors for graphic elements. Large titles. Card-like containers. Fast loading. Long shadows came later as an add on to plain shapes. I started with designing style sheets for my own page, for a Google website redesign and a standard style guide template for download.
