The creation of TriondaTM, a FIFA World Cup 26TM full visual identity system and their worldwide famous derived rebranding.

Over 20 years ago, FIFA World Cup 26 TM visual identity was designed taking into account it would take place in three different countries; United States, Canada and México. For that reason, focusing on type, I proposed a full visual identity system with an alphabet and its application. The frase 'We are 26' was for displaying the World Cup 26 TM type Family, along with some iconic players names, such as Zico. Above: Evolution of  FIFA World Cup 26 TM brands  and  FIFA TM  logo applied to its website.      Brazillian World Cup was designed mockingly in the same batch, as a graphic joke refering to the sad incident regarding the destiny of a past trophy in soccer history, though it looked fresh and naive, not a bad starting point for a serious design. A Dynamic Brand-New Design for a New Sportswear Brand While I was designing Trionda™ and the FIFA World Cup 26™ logo , I knew that FIFA was negotiating with partners about making their championship balls while also producing cleats, and I started working on a sportswear brand. FIFA World Cup 26 TM Ball While I was designing FIFA World Cup 26 TM logo , I knew they also offered a similar collab opportunity for the ball design. I could retain the rights to sell it and, unlike the logo, it didn't change every two years. Project Date B4 2006 The Challenge How do I create a ball design that produces less surface contact resistance and is uniquely recognizable? The design should also allow for different collors and patterns. Project Role Product Design , Naming ,  Branding , Visual Identity My Approach The FIFA World Cup 26 TM games were actually going to take place in three different countries; United States, Canada and Mexico, so the design started from a triagular shape, which also influenced on the product name choice: Trionda TM . Studies for Trionda TM design also resulted in Brazuca TM , which would be released before it. © Alex Webb. Get in contact for negotiating usage rights. Copyright protects creators. < home
